World of Tanks vs. WWE seems like a good match in latest update

Posted on July 26, 2020

What does WWE and World of Tanks have in common? Apart from them all being tough, action-packed and larger-than-life, I mean. That’s right, they will now be in a special collaboration in World of Tanks, where  legendary Superstars will appear in the massively popular World of Tanks console.

As part of Update 5.0 – Season 1 SummerSlam, an exclusive new season pass for World of Tanks will run through Monday, September 21, also introducing console cross-play for the first time.

The latest update is apparently the biggest from the game in years and brings WWE inspired tanks and much more to World of Tanks players on PlayStation and Xbox.

By far the coolest aspect of this collaboration is the Superstar Collector Tank, which will be added to the game. They’re inspired by Superstars listed below and will include their own epic entrances in the WWE garage.

  • The Undertaker
  • Becky Lynch
  • Andre the Giant
  • Sgt. Slaughter
  • “Stone Cold” Steve Austin

There has been no confirmation on whether or not The Undertaker’s entrance will take 10 minutes+ like he does on television. It’s also unlikely Becky Lynch will be driving the tank herself, given she is currently pregnant and that could be risky? Check out the tanks in all their glory below.

Regardless, if that doesn’t get your tank running, Roman Reigns, “Macho Man” Randy Savage, “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels will also be available (in tank form!) in August.

TJ Wagner, Executive Producer of Wargaming Chicago-Baltimore said: “The update 5.0 and launch of Season 1 is probably the biggest one our team in Chicago has done in a couple of years. Partnering with WWE has been a fantastic experience and is bringing unique new content to our players, who can expect more updates like SummerSlam in the future! With update 5.0, we’re very excited to be able to address many player requests and desires for our game like cross-play that unites PlayStation and Xbox tankers, to make matchmaking faster and better.

We hope there are more fun collaborations like this to come. World of Tanks Console can be downloaded for free by all PlayStation Network and Xbox Live account holders
