Remnant: From the Ashes is free on the Epic Game Store next week

If you love free games, and we know you do, then Epic games is offering quite the deal for you. Remnant: From the Ashes, one of the quite frankly most underrated games of last year, will be free to PC players next week via the Epic Game Store.

Not familiar with Remnant: From the Ashes? Let me pitch it to you. Love the lore of From Software games? Its combat? What about its monster design? In fact, are you anything like me and just about love everything about From Software games except for its difficulty? Then boy is this the game for you.

Remnant: From the Ashes is a game set in a post-apocalyptic world with gorgeous imagery, even for a AA project. One area looks like Star Wars desert planet Tattooine. Another is a swamp biome with some creepy crawlies and a moth queen. These levels are procedurally generated but don’t let those words fear you: they find new ways to shake things up for you in all your runs.

Additionally, the game offers solid co-op play, challenging (but completely possible to triumph) bosses and some fantastic abilities, weapons and gunplay. Really, expect some fun from this one. I reviewed the game last year and was quite proud of myself for seeing it to completion. It’s likely the closest I’ll get to finishing a Soulsborne game.

Now with DLC just around the corner, it couldn’t be a better time to jump into the game and see what all the (cult) fuss is about. Remnant: From the Ashes will be available free on Epic Game Store from August 14th to the 21st. Be sure to be quick and grab this one while it’s still free.
