Xbox Game Pass via Twitter posted a picture that was kind of cryptic… but kind of not. The photo shows a medieval battle ground with a rainbow imposed over the top. Really, it could only be one game that they’re referring to here and that’s Rainbow Six Siege.
The online tactical shooter that was released in 2015 is now in its fifth year. Publisher Ubisoft have added a number of new elements to their Year 5 season. These include the reworking one of the games most frustrating fighters, Tachanka, the inclusion of Splinter Cell’s Sam Fisher as a playable character and a reworked map. So it makes it the perfect time for the game to be released on Game Pass and earn some new followers!

The game’s director, Leroy Athanassoff, also said that Ubisoft would love for the game to be free to play one day. Though Athanassoff did admit that the game would need some fixes and updates before it hit the FTP market. However, it entering onto Xbox Game Pass may mean that it is one step closer to becoming FTP in the near future.
It was also announced last month that owners of the game on console will be able to upgrade to a PS5 or Xbox Series X or S version of Rainbow Six Siege for no extra cost.
Rainbow Six Siege is available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It will be also available on next gen consoles though there has been no word on a release date.
