Project 007 is the new Bond game from Hitman devs

Get ready to ask for your martinis shaken not stirred as IO Interactive, the developers of the Hitman series, have announced they are working on a new James Bond game. Titled Project 007, the Danish company will work in collaboration with MGM, EON Productions and Delphi to create the first Bond origin story. The technology used will be IO Interactive’s Glacier technology and be made for “modern systems and platforms” in mind.

The CEO of IO, Hakan Abrak, has said that creating a new Bond game “is a monumental undertaking” and he believes his team “can deliver something extremely special for our players and communities.” They are hoping to “craft the most ambitious game in the history of our studio.

The trailer doesn’t explain much about the title, other than using the original Bond theme music that accompanies the iconic slow motion footage of a loading gun barrel. The theme music and the footage have been featured in every Bond movie since Dr No. which came out in 1962 and have both become classic symbols of the Bond franchise ever since.

Though IO has not announced a release date, you can sign up for news updates about Project 007 here. If you can’t wait for your secret agent fix, Hitman 3 is coming out on the 20th of January 2021 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC.
