Bleeding Edge, the 4v4 melee-focused multiplayer game from Ninja Theory that launched in March 2020, will not be receiving any further content updates, it was announced today. Ninja Theory will be focusing fully on their other projects, including Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, Project Mara and The Insight Project.
They announced the news via Twitter this morning.
With the studio now focusing on our new projects (Senua’s Saga, Project Mara & The Insight Project) we have decided that there will be no further content updates for Bleeding Edge. The game is still playable on Xbox and PC. Thank you to the fans & keep teaming up & causing chaos!

Larger games in the pipeline for the popular studio definitely should be taking priority, especially considering Bleeding Edge didn’t exactly set the world on fire when it released.
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is the very anticipated sequel that will be one of Xbox’s key exclusives when it eventually releases, while The Insight Project is a research and development endeavour which aims to combine technology, game development, and neuroscience to support well-being.
Bleeding Edge is still available on Xbox One and PC via Xbox Game Pass if you’re curious about it. While it had some interesting character design and a unique concept focused on melee combat instead of shooting, some balancing issues and a lack of variety in game modes hurt it on launch in a big way, and it never quite recovered.
