The massively multiplayer online extreme sports game Riders Republic was originally scheduled for a February 25 release date, but has now been delayed to “later this year”.
Developed by Ubisoft Annecy, the studio who also created the underrated extreme snow sports game Steep, Riders Republic was set to be Ubisoft’s first big release of 2021. The official Twitter posted early this morning to let fans know of the change.

The post reads: In September, we gave you a first look at our massive multiplayer playground in Riders Republic. We promised an action-packed outdoor sports park, filled with all-out mass races with more than 50 fellow Riders on next-gen consoles, a variety of diverse activities, and insane stunts. We can’t wait to have you traverse our vibrant world and live out your own Rider’s fantasy.
Today, we want to let you know that we have made the decision to move our release to later this year. This additional time will allow our passionate team to deliver the best fun fueled experience to our players. Thank you so much for your support and understanding. Stay safe and get ready to join the madness of riders republic soon! -The Riders Republic Dev Team
Riders Republic was announced in September last year at the Ubisoft Forward event, featuring skiing, snowboarding, downhill biking, wingsuiting, and rocket wingsuiting, with exciting game modes like Mass Starts, a frantic race with more than 50 players colliding, grinding and fighting their way to the finish line.
With a vague timeframe of “later this year”, we’re not sure when we can expect Riders Republic, but hopefully it doesn’t get lost in the busy shuffle of October/November. The game is set to release across pretty much all platforms; PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, Stadia and Windows PC, exclusively on both the Epic Games Store and the Ubisoft Store.
