Leave it to Capcom Japan to drum up excitement for Resident Evil Village’s release in the most unexpected way possible. The producer’s YouTube channel has uploaded an adorable puppet show featuring some of the character’s we’ll see in Resident Evil Village, complete with blood-and-guts effects using fabrics and streamers and energetic sound effects. It’s not translated to English, and we don’t know if it will be in the future, but that kind of adds to the entertainment. Give it a watch:
The characters shown in the short video are of course Lady Dimitrescu, as well as Heisenberg, Salvatore Moreau, and Donna Beneviento; all characters we will be running into in the real game. The clash of cute puppetry and slapstick with all that blood and gore is certainly jarring in the most hilarious way.
Resident Evil Village will release on May 7th on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5 and PC. A 60-minute demo, which was originally only to be available for a brief 24-hour window on the 1st of May, has recently been extended and will now last until May 10th.
