Advance Wars 1+2 remakes announced for Nintendo Switch

Posted on June 16, 2021

After over a decade since the last entry in the acclaimed strategy series, Nintendo have announced Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp coming to the Switch on December 3rd this year. Showcased as part of Nintendo’s E3 2021 Direct, this is a remastered collection of the original two Gameboy Advance titles – you can check out the trailer below!

Showing off a new 3D graphical style and cute table-top battlegrounds, the remake will feature all of the tight tactical gameplay and zany, camp character moments of the originals. The most recent entry in the series (Advance Wars: Days of Ruin) came out on Nintendo DS back in 2008, so it’s nice to see some attention for the beloved series – particularly in the wake of its excellent spiritual successor Wargroove.

Pre-orders are already open for the compilation: will you be checking it out? Let us know! And don’t forget to check out the rest of our E3 coverage, including news of a new WarioWare game.
