A remastered trilogy has been announced for Crysis 1, 2 & 3, putting players back into the infamous Nanosuit. This announcement comes just a couple of weeks after the release of Mass Effect Legendary Edition, proving remastered trilogies are certainly popular right now.
It’s an interesting announcement, especially considering we’ve already seen the release of Crysis Remastered last year. Whilst I’m a big fan of the Crysis series, I have to admit, Crysis Remastered came as a little bit of a disappointment. Still, having the entire trilogy released as a single remastered bundle is a pretty tantalising prospect. You can check out the announcement trailer below.
For those who have never experienced the Crysis games, these sci-fi, single-player, first-person shooters were pretty influential back in the day. Developed by Crytek, the games, especially the original, were always known for pushing hardware to its absolute limits. Stunning visuals and solid gameplay with an interesting wartime/alien story kept the series fresh for me. The infamous Nanosuit allowed players to take on different properties including super speed, invisibility and more. I also remember spending way too long playing the Crysis 2 multiplayer mode, although there’s no word on whether that will be included within the trilogy.
Crysis Remastered Trilogy is planning to release Fall 2021, which is Spring for us Southern Hemisphere dwellers. It’s coming to PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch. For those who’ve never played a Crysis game, this package may be a no-brainer. For the rest of us, I’m holding out to see if it releases more impressively than Crysis Remastered.
