A listing in the Epic Games Store’s database has alerted keen-eyed internet users to the possibility that Final Fantasy VII Remake may be hitting the platform soon. This was revealed via EpicData, a website that tracks updates made to the Epic Games Store. The listing is buried under a few menus in the ‘custom attributes’ folder, but the title of the game is clearly visible.
EpicData is a site that is most often used for tracking the timing of game sales or what games will be getting updates. But just like retail stores like Target and Big W, sometimes their internal listings can reveal games that will soon be coming out on the store, even if they have not been announced yet.
We always knew that Final Fantasy VII Remake would be a PlayStation exclusive for only a limited time, but we didn’t know exactly how it would be hitting PC. Coming to the Epic Games Store would make sense, as the PC versions of Square Enix games such as the Kingdom Hearts series and the upcoming NEO: The World Ends With You are Epic Games Store exclusives. It may also be to do with the fact that Final Fantasy VII Remake was developed in Unreal Engine, a game development software owned by Epic.
Exactly when it may release or what price point it might be was not revealed.
