After being leaked overnight, Ubisoft has officially revealed Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, the followup to the surprising 2017 mashup. This tactical game will see characters from the Mario universe and the Rabbids universe combine to create a weird yet fantastic crossover.
Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle was a surprisingly good game, taking a more accessible approach to the turn-based tactics genre. It also introduced us to Rabbid Peach, a character that will live on in gaming history forever. A sequel is a really good opportunity for Ubisoft to take the systems they introduced further and to expand upon the groundwork of the original.
We also got a sneak peek at some gameplay for Sparks of Hope. Things look promising although it really is a very quick look at what to expect. The game is releasing in 2022 to Nintendo Switch so no doubt we’ll have more time to see what Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope has in store for us.
