Xbox + Bethesda decided to end their showcase this morning with Phil Spencer delivering a mic drop, announcing Redfall from talented (and loved) developer Arkane Studios, coming Summer 2022… exclusively to Xbox and coming to Xbox Game Pass, obviously.
The trailer is all cinematic, but has a wonderful sense of humour, showing a group of misfits who have banded together to fight off what looks like some sort of Vampire apocalypse. Check it out.
Described as an open world co-op multiplayer shooter, the story goes that the “quaint island town of Redfall, Massachusetts, is under siege by a legion of vampires who have blocked out the sun and cut the island off from the outside world. Trapped with a handful of survivors against diabolical enemies threatening to bleed the town dry, choose your hero from a diverse roster, grouping up with others to create the perfect team of vampire slayers.”
Considering the acquisition of Bethesda last year, we were wondering when some of their talented development teams would start dropping announcements like this. Capping off a successful showcase at E3 is certainly one way to do that.
Redfall will launch as a console exclusive on Xbox Series X|S and PC in 2022.
