Steam’s annual Summer Sale dates leaked

Posted on June 18, 2021

There is no doubting that Steam is the worlds largest digital game platform, and when a sale occurs it still manages to create quite a bit of buzz for PC gamers everywhere.

A new leak has indicated that this year’s Summer Sale will run from the 24th of June until the 8th of July, but as this has not officially been confirmed by Steam, so take it with a grain of salt at this stage. The Steam Summer Sale is always a big event for the platform and its users, generally boasting some amazing bargains on a variety of titles. This ranges from smaller indies to bigger AAA releases, usually tied together with a theme. Last year’s Summer Sale had a “road trip” theme, and there are usually other goodies that go along with the sales for users.

Whilst Steam does run smaller sales throughout the year every week on a select number of games, the Summer Sale can provide some crazy reductions for high-profile games, even including fairly recent titles that normally would not receive a large discount. This is both a pro and con for me, as although it means I can grab an amazing bargain, my gaming pile of shame continues to grow with titles I own but haven’t had the time to dive into yet.

I personally look forward to the sales on Steam as these days I have to be picky with what titles I spend my money on, so this usually provides me with a good opportunity to pick up some titles at a discounted price that I have been eagerly waiting to enjoy.

Don’t forget that Steam has also been rumoured to be working on a portable PC nicknamed the “Steampal” akin to the Nintendo Switch to allow gamers to enjoy their Steam library on the go. Start saving your money and stay tuned for further updates, as it shouldn’t be too long before the sale is officially announced on Steam.
