After the devastating-but-expected cancellation of PAX Australia 2021 as an in-person event was announced last week, there’s still plenty to look forward to when it comes to Aussie video game content, as PAX Aus Online 2021 will be taking place October 8-10, bringing a lot of the gaming goodness we are accustomed to from the best video game expo in Australia.
The PAX Australia Twitter is ready to welcome us home… from home again, with three hwole days of “juicy PAXY content”.
We are all definitely bummed that we can't do PAX Aus in person for a second year, but we are really excited about #PAXAus Online 2021! We had a blast with you last time and we can’t wait to do it again in October. Welcome home… (from home, again!) pic.twitter.com/hwCNG3GoIP

You’ll have to keep an eye on PAX Australia’s social media accounts as more information comes to light, but the event is set to feature thought-provoking panels, exciting livestreams, new demos, tournaments, some “suuuuper weird” games and a community experience unlike any other. It will also be completely free to attend, of course.
PAX Australia 2021 originally had tickets go on sale earlier this year, as an in-person event seemed hopeful, with Victoria achieving a long period with zero community transmissions of COVID. Unfortunately, with the large spike in Sydney and the ongoing lockdowns across the country, the disappointing (but completely understandable) decision was made to postpone the event until 2022, with full refunds automatically taking place.
Still, we can’t wait to attend PAX Aus Online, get our virtual fix of some amazing locally-made games and join the community, while we keep our fingers crossed for next years edition.
To keep up with what’s happening PAX-wise, subscribe to their Twitch account and get your Discord ready, PAX Aus Online will take place October 8-10.
