Injustice: Gods Among Us was a popular title based on DC characters from NetherRealm Studios, most famous for continuing the Mortal Kombat series. It provided players with the perfect scenario to duke it out as beloved DC comics characters, whilst at the same time offering up a very interesting story that has become one many fans have been eager to see represented on the big screen.
Whilst this may not be a live-action film many would have liked that was alluded to in the Snyder films, the new trailer for the Injustice animated film still looks to be a wildly good time. The voice cast features the likes of Justin Hartley as Superman, Anson Mount as Batman, and character actor Kevin Pollack as The Joker. The costumes seemed to be pulled straight from the games, with the story hopefully not holding back anything.
For those unfamiliar with the story of Injustice, and without spoiling it, it mostly centres around the idea of what if Superman turned evil. What if something pushed him to his absolute limits that he lost all faith in humanity and became a much darker version of himself instead of the shining beacon of hope he usually represents. The main catalyst being The Joker taking Louis Lane and crossing a line that Superman struggles to come to terms with, eventually leading him down a dark path from which there is no return.
There is no release date as of yet, but no doubt we will find out more during the upcoming DC Fandome event where we are expecting to find out more about some other DC projects such as the video game titles Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
