Riot Games drops the final trailer for Arcane

Following the climax of the 2021 Worlds’ Grand Final, Riot Games is looking to keep League of Legends fans hooked on something other than roster rumours during the off-season. Riot recently dropped the final trailer for Arcane, a Netflix animated series that takes place in the League of Legends world of Runeterra.

The series focuses heavily on the origin story of two League of Legends’ characters, Vi and Jinx, set in the in-universe city of Piltover and Zaun.

Animation is done by industry veterans from Fortiche Productions, who have partnered with Riot in the past on their K/DA project. The studio’s skill and familiarity with the IP shows through clearly with how beautifully the Arcane animation style reads on screen. Riot Games has managed to secure a slew of seasoned voice actors and actresses, with the two leads notably being played by Hailee Steinfeld and Ella Purnell.

The team has also released an impressive music video to accompany the single ‘Enemy’ performed by Imagine Dragons and JID, depicting the two artists in Arcane-style animation.

The series is Riot Games’ latest venture in a barrage of new IPs, including an MMO still under development and under wraps.

The series will be split into three Acts, the first releasing on November 6th, the second on November 13th, and the third on November 20th.
