Crytek has confirmed that a new Crysis game is in development, currently with the working title of Crysis 4.
In a blog post and a strange teaser trailer that doesn’t give very much away at all, it has been officially revealed that the latest in the franchise is in early stages of development. With not much information to share at this stage, they noted that their “dedicated and talented team is working hard to bring you a truly next-gen shooter.”
“Crytek has a proud history of working with our community to develop the games you want to play. Crysis is incredibly important to so many people – it’s beloved by gamers everywhere, and some of those working in the industry today are doing so because of the original game – so we want to make sure the next instalment in the franchise lives up to all of your expectations.” said Crytek CEO Avni Yerli in the blog post.
While Crysis 4 may be a while away, the Crysis Remastered Trilogy released late last year, celebrating the iconic franchise that was the benchmark for PC’s everywhere when the first in the series released back in 2007.
In our review, we said “It’s a bundle for those who love their games to look gorgeous, have the autonomy to blow up stuff in a number of different and creative ways, and love FPS vibes. With all three games remastered and in one collection, Crysis Remastered Trilogy is a lot of big bangs for your buck, despite some shortfalls.”
We’ll have more on Crysis 4 as it becomes available in the coming months and years. At the end of the day, the question on everybody’s lips will be asked all over again: Will your PC (or PS5 or Xbox Series X) be able to run Crysis 4?
