Revealed during the February 2022 Nintendo Direct, fans around the world are jumping for joy at the official announcement for Xenoblade Chronicles 3 for the Nintendo Switch.
A vast world awaits in the next game of the acclaimed RPG series from developer MONOLITHSOFT. Players will step into the roles of protagonists Noah and Mio amid turmoil between the hostile nations of Keves and Agnus. Six characters hailing from those nations will take part in a grand tale with “life” as its central theme. Explore a new world that will connect the futures of both Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
Unfortunately, it’s hard to tell exactly what the main plot and story will be from watching the trailer. There is no real explanation of combat or mechanics and we really just get a tease of what is to come. Fans are already speculating what the plot may involve from Nintendo’s very brief description of the game. In saying that, the trademark features are all there: questionably young characters fighting huge wars, titan-sized worlds and structures, and epic action.
After sneaky reports suggested this announcement would come at the end of last year, we finally have confirmation of the next entry in the beloved series. Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition launched on the Nintendo Switch nearly two years ago to complete appraise from fans and critics alike. Since then, the community has been absolutely dying for the third game to return to this universe.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will launch in September 2022 on the Nintendo Switch.
