Splatoon 3, the upcoming multiplayer sequel where you play as kids who are also squids, has finally gotten a release date. It was revealed at the end of a simple but effective gameplay trailer that showed a single Turf War match from beginning to end. Watch the trailer below:
In this full-length Turf War match, we can see two teams face off in one of the new arenas. It still looks like the good old matches we know and love, but with some exciting new ways to move around the map and coat the enemy team in ink. A variety of the new weapons and abilities are shown off as well. Some of the special moves look extra cool, such as a robot with multiple legs that deals out massive damage. The game looks as chaotic and fast-paced as ever.
Like the first two games, Splatoon 3 will also feature a solo mode. A trailer that was revealed last year gave us a taste of Splatoon’s world, which appears to be a post-apocalyptic version of our own. We’ve even been promised a look at these so-called “mammalians” that used to run the world.
Splatoon will release on September 9th 2022 for the Nintendo Switch.
