Norman Reedus may have just confirmed a sequel to Death Stranding during an interview with men’s lifestyle website Leo. The interview was mainly geared toward the American actor’s movie and TV career, but when talk turned to his other projects and the interviewer mentioned Death Stranding, Reedus bluntly announced “We’re just starting the second one.”
He didn’t say anything more on the matter, instead telling the story of how Hideo Kojima came to recruit him to play the role of Sam Bridges. If he’s in this next game too, it seems likely he’ll be reprising that role, although that’s not a given. He was originally cast in the infamously cancelled Silent Hills as a completely different character, before Kojima Productions switched tack to Death Stranding. He didn’t confirm if the game would be a direct sequel or just a new title in the so-called ‘strand game’ genre.
Death Stranding was released in 2019 to critical acclaim, and was re-released as a director’s cut in 2021. so it stands to reason that a sequel is in the works. We’ll be keenly awaiting an official announcement.
