A release window for the upcoming latest entry in the Forza racing franchise, titled simply Forza Motorsport, has been confirmed during the Xbox and Bethesda showcase for release on PC and Xbox Series X/S. It will bring several graphical and performances enhancements to make the most of the power of the current-gen Xbox consoles.
One of Forza Motorsport’s central features is a dynamic day and night system, bringing Maple Valley to life in new ways. The differences in the ambient temperature of the tracks go so far as to impact your car’s tyre grip and wear. The level of graphical details in the cars has also been brought to new heights, with fuel and tyre management, and car damage represented down to the size and directions of individual scratches.
Ray tracing has also been implemented to further the detail in the simulation. Not only can you see reflections of other cars in your car mirrors, the reflections will even be present in the bodies of the cars as well.
This is the first Forza Motorsport game since 2017, marking the sub-franchise’s debut on modern Xbox consoles. The new entry in the famous racing franchise will be coming to Xbox Series X/S and PC within the next 12 months. As with Microsoft’s other first-party releases, it will be available day one for Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
