Gotham Knights showcases Nightwing in a new character trailer

Summer Games Fest is still cranking out some awesome trailers, and that includes WB Games Montreal’s new title, Gotham Knights. Showcasing the first Robin in the Wayne family, we get to see Dick Grayson as Nightwing in his own character trailer. We’ve seen a bit more about Gotham Knights over the last couple of months but this time we get to see Nightwing.

The last thing WB Games showed about Gotham Knights is a gameplay demo, and the villains The Court of Owls. In Nightwing’s character trailer, we get to see him fighting The Regulators, Gotham’s resident gang, along with two skins for the crime fighter.

In the trailer, Grayson talks about how Gotham is his home and the citizens are his family. Along with some rooftop parkour and beating up the bad guys. As well as, a look at two skins players can use while in style. The first one changes his wardrobe, along with a different Nightwing icon, and an undercut.

The second skin shown is Grayson sporting a ponytail, referencing the one he was rocking in the 1990s. Additionally, we also see how Grayson traverses with his glider, The Flying Trapeze. You can spot the glider in a gameplay demo video released in early May. There’s more fighting with The Regulators including different enemy types within the gang.

Towards the end we get Grayson standing in front of Bruce Wayne’s grave, letting Bruce know he’s got it. Gotham Knights takes place after the death of Bruce Wayne and Police Commissioner Jim Gordon. Players take on the role of Grayson as Nightwing, Barbara Gordon as Batgirl, Jason Todd as Red Hood and Tim Drake as Robin. The remnants of the Bat family have to keep Wayne’s mission alive by protecting Gotham from the evils of The Court of Owls, Mr Freeze and Penguin.

Originally planned to release PS4 and Xbox One, but in early May it was announced that WB Montreal is dropping development. Their explanation for it is to give players the “best possible gameplay experience”.

Gotham Knights comes out on October 25th for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X.
