Of all the games we were expecting and hoping for at the Nintendo Direct overnight, Octopath Traveler 2 didn’t cross my mind, but I’m glad it’s happening. The sequel to the JRPG hit from 2018 is coming on February 24, 2023.
Octopath Traveler 2 will feature eight new protagonists, travelling through the world of Solistia. Similarly to the original, we can expect these eight different storylines to intertwine in interesting ways, this time with a day and night cycle having an impact on what happens.
The trademark gorgeous art-style is back again, and considering the success of Octopath Traveler, along with the also amazing Triangle Strategy that launched earlier this year, we should expect big things from the sequel. We certainly won’t have long to wait, and this time it’s not going to be releasing exclusively on Switch first; it has been confirmed to be hitting PC and PlayStation on the same day. Given the original eventually came to Xbox as well, that’s a possibility for the future, but hasn’t been revealed just yet.
Octopath Traveler 2 will be coming to Switch, PC, PS5 and PS4 on February 24, 2023.
