Cult of the Lamb launches limited ‘Blood Moon Festival’ update

Posted on October 25, 2022

Australian smash indie hit and winner of four AGDA awards, Cult of the Lamb, has just launched a limited-time seasonal event called Blood Moon Festival. Coinciding with the Halloween period, Blood Moon Festival is a free update that allows players to harvest pumpkins that allow for the unlocking of a new ritual raising former cult members from the dead and setting them free as wandering spirits. The Blood Moon Festival update also comes with four new base decorations, three new follow forms, and new music.

With Halloween just around the corner, it’s certainly a good time to jump back into a game like Cult of the Lamb, which we described in our review as a title that “excels at creating its own dark-yet-endearing vibe and refuses to back down from that portrayal”.

It’s great to see Cult of the Lamb continue to be supported with updates. We’ve been infatuated ever since we first laid eyes on this project and hearing the passion straight from game developer Julian in our recent interview kept that infatuation high.

For those wondering what the plan is for future updates for the game, the devs clarified on Twitter that, “The Blood Moon Festival is our first seasonal event and the first of many updates that will add more content to your Cult! Along with seasonal events, we’ve been working on a FREE major content update that will add more depth to combat and dungeon gameplay based on your feedback… There’s a lot more in the pipeline so we don’t have a timeline for this major content update right now. In the meantime, we are still working on fixing issues and improving performance across ALL platforms.”

The Blood Moon Festival update is live now across all platforms, PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Switch, and will run until November 10.
