The Game Awards 2022 viewers may have thought they were watching a trailer for a new BioShock game, but it’s actually an upcoming game from Ghost Story Games titled Judas.
Ghost Story Games however did create and develop the Bioshock games, but according to their website, “(though) we’ve supported the community in the past, we’re no longer working on the BioShock franchise.” Judas, the Ghost Story Game’s first game, will be a a narrative single player first-person shooter that is set in a very BioShock looking world.
The trailer gives us a glimpse of 1940s Art Deco style interiors, kooky characters and dark lighting that all mirror the look and feel of the BioShock franchise. In the game you’ll play as Judas, who has been described as “mysterious and troubled.” Your ship is falling to pieces and you must develop an escape plan. However, the only way you can do so is by teaming up with “your worst enemies” which come in the form of a damaged cyborg, a moustached Sherriff and a mystical Goddess type character. It seems that the game will let you decide who you side with and who you stab in the back which will lead you to your survival or your death.
Though a release date was not announced, we do know that Judas will be coming out on Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC.
