The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood is a tarot deck-builder set to enchant audiences this year

Publisher Devolver Digital and Essays on Empathy developer Deconstructeam have today announced a new project. The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood is a brand new and creative deck-builder that has players building a deck of tarot cards and exploring a story spanning centuries. It’s a magical journey set to grace our screens later this year.

The core crux is this: You are Fortuna, a witch banished for a thousand years to isolation on an asteroid hurtling through space. Having your tarot cards taken away from you and little company, on the eve of the 200th year in isolation you summon a God. Thankful for being awake, they help you craft a new deck, eventually allowing for the creative building of cards through a broad edit screen. These cards then can be used to at last conduct new palm readings on the long-awaited visitors that will soon follow, exploring Fortuna’s story both in the current day and in the past when she was a human on Earth.

We got to check this game out ahead of the announcement in an early hands-on preview and walked away thoroughly impressed and itching for more. Stellar writing, a captivating art style and a fun spin on the genre were the big takeaways so far.

It’s still some time til players will get crafting away and getting to know Fortuna in The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood, with the release date only currently set for sometime in 2023 for Nintendo Switch and PC. That being said, it’s one that should very well be on peoples’ radar.
