Megan Fox joins the fight as Nitara in Mortal Kombat 1

Megan Fox, the famous American actress known for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Transformers, lends her voice to the vampire fighter Nitara in the highly anticipated Mortal Kombat 1. NetherRealm Studios dropped a blood-sucking trailer earlier this week unveiling Nitara’s character and showcasing Fox’s exciting new role.

In the trailer, we witness Nitara in action, unleashing her powers and executing jaw-breaking moves. She’s a long-awaited addition to the Mortal Kombat roster, with fans clamouring to see the character return as a fighter since her last appearance in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon.

The video showcases her fierce combat skills involving claws, fangs, and aerial prowess, all designed to secure a gory victory. Nitara’s lines even pay homage to Fox’s previous work. In one scene, she confronts Kung Lao, who inquires, “What did you do with Jen’s body?” This is a direct reference to Fox’s starring role in the 2009 horror film Jennifer’s Body.

Nitara, the enigmatic vampire, will sink her teeth into the Mortal Kombat universe in style. Her appearance is a mesmerising blend of gothic allure and fearsome strength. Megan Fox, who provides her voice, couldn’t be more thrilled to see herself embodied in the character. Fox exclaims, “She’s a vampire, which obviously resonates for whatever reason. It’s cool to be in the game, you know? Because I’m not really just voicing it; it’ll be like she’s kind of me.”

Mortal Kombat 1 marks the next chapter in the legendary fighting game series that first captivated audiences in 1992. This instalment promises a fresh story, an entirely new universe, and “reimagined” versions of beloved Mortal Kombat characters from various games. One of the most intriguing additions to Mortal Kombat 1 is the Kameo system, which allows players to summon assist fighters during battles. We’ve already had our hands-on with the game and are keen to see what other familiar faces or surprise Kameo characters might pop up soon.

Mortal Kombat 1 is set to launch on 19 September 2023, and Nitara’s arrival promises to be a highlight.
