Agent 47 returns in Hitman: Blood Money remastered ports for mobile and Nintendo Switch

Posted on October 5, 2023

Before there was Hitman: World of Assassination, Agent 47’s most lauded outing in the Hitman franchise was Hitman: Blood Money back in 2006. Building upon the previous games’ strong foundations, this entry set the tone for future games in the series with its labyrinthine levels and inventive assassination methods. Fortunately for Hitman fans, Feral Interactive has announced that it is working on enhanced ports of Blood Money for mobile devices and Nintendo Switch.

Agent 47 goes mobile in Hitman: Blood Money — Reprisal!,” writes Feral Interactive on social media. “With new features and gameplay improvements inspired by later HITMAN games, the stealth-action classic makes a triumphant return on iOS & Android this autumn, and Nintendo Switch in winter! Are you ready to make a killing?

Said new features in the new Hitman: Blood Money ports include an omnipresent minimap and the Instinct mode, which highlights key items and NPCs. These mechanics were introduced in Hitman: Absolution and then expanded upon in the World of Assassination trilogy. The versions of the game on mobile devices will also include customisable touch screen interfaces, along with support for controllers as well as keyboard and mouse controls. For the many players who have become fans of the series from Io Interactive’s more accessible World of Assassination games, migrating some of these mechanics back into the original game will be sure to make it more approachable for newer fans, even if it may rankle some purists.
We don’t yet have a firm release date for Hitman: Blood Money – Reprisal, only that the release will be staggered. The ports for IOS and Android mobile devices will be coming in the next few months, and the Nintendo Switch port will release later during the Australian Summer.
