Baldur’s Gate 3 wins Game of the Year 2023 at The Game Awards

The Game Awards show for 2023 has concluded, with an unusually crowded field of standout contenders vying for the top accolade. From to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 to Super Mario Wonder, nobody can claim it hasn’t been a standout year as far as video games are concerned. However, only one game can take the Game of the Year award, and the winner this year is the fan-favourite RPG by Larian, Baldur’s Gate 3, which won GOTY 2023 along with sweeping many other categories.

In addition to the biggest award of the event, Baldur’s Gate 3 also walked away with many other honours, ending up with the most awards won of the nominees. These included Best Community Support, Best RPG, Player’s Voice, and Best Multiplayer Presented by Discord, as well as a Best Performance award for Neil Newbon as the game’s roguish vampire party member Astarion. The other notable winner of multiple awards is Alan Wake 2, which landed Best Game Direction, Best Narrative and Best Art Direction.
