Alan Wake joins the Dead by Daylight roster

In an exciting announcement for horror gaming enthusiasts, Dead by Daylight is elated to welcome Alan Wake into The Fog. Fans of Alan Wake 2‘s mind-bending horror can now experience his presence in the acclaimed universe.

The collaboration was announced by the Dead By Daylight team and Sam Lake, Creative Director of Remedy Entertainment. Lake expresses excitement, stating, “We feel the lore of our two horror experiences is a match made in the Dark Place and can’t wait to experience the horrors that await him in the Fog.”

Alan Wake’s in-game likeness is being crafted based on the physical actor of the character, Ilkka Villi. It will also include Alan Wake’s iconic voice, portrayed by Matthew Porretta. Porretta’s chilling screams and original voice lines are almost a match made in heaven and add to the atmosphere of the game.

Alan Wake brings three character Perks that reflect his survival abilities honed through harrowing encounters in Bright Falls and beyond:

• Champion of Light: Additional movement speed while shining a flashlight. Successfully blinding a Killer imposes the Hindered Status Effect, slowing them down temporarily.
• Boon: Illumination: Create a Boon Totem, revealing the Auras of Generators and Chests across the Map. Lit Boon Totems allow for faster Cleansing and Blessing of Totems.
• Deadline: Activates when injured and increases the frequency of Skill Checks while Healing Survivors or Repairing Generators. The penalty for missing a Skill Check is halved, offering strategic advantages.
