Ever thought that Destiny and Mass Effect should crossover in some way? They’re both sci-fi games, and you shoot enemies in both, feels like a match made in heaven! Well, you’re in luck, announced in a press release, Destiny will receive some Mass Effect-inspired cosmetic items starting Feb 13th. Items included in this partnership are the N7 armour set for Titans, Garrus Vakarian armour set for Hunters, and a Liara T’Soni armour set for Warlocks. Players will also be able to grab a few more things via the Alliance Requisitions Bundle. Items like: the Enhanced Defense Ghost Shell, Alliance Scout Frigate ship, and Alliance Drop Ship Sparrow. You can also grab an Omni Strike finisher and Flux Dance emote for Silver.
However, these items will cost you. While the Alliance Requisitions Bundle is free for all players, the armour sets will most likely burn a hole in your wallet. Of course, this isn’t the first time Destiny 2 has teamed up with another popular franchise. The Witcher came to the game as armour sets in their launch for The Season of The Witch. This is an interesting move on Bungie’s part, partnering with popular IPs to get people back into Destiny. Especially since a lot of players have blamed the price of DLC and stale content for its downfall.
Destiny 2’s latest DLC, Ligthtfall, was a bit of a disappointment. Bungie responded by saying that they accept the feedback and they need to step up on making Destiny 2 better than ever. But hey, maybe this newest crossover with the Mass Effect universe will bring over some Mass Effect fans to the free-to-play game. Coinciding with this announcement are “Riven’s Wishes”, weekly quests from Jan 30th to March 12th. And from Jan 30th to June 3rd is the “Moments of Triumph”, an event where all Guardians can “conquer an array of Trumphs”. If you complete it, you can buy a shirt from the store.
Are any Mass Effect fans going to jump into Destiny for the first time, or jump back in? Or will you give it a pass? Let us know!
