The episode runtime for the upcoming Knuckles TV series has been released, hinting to Sonic The Hedgehog fans the amount of live-action content they will receive once the show comes out on Paramount Plus.
The Entertainment Identifier Registry (or EIDR) listed the Knuckles series on its database, claiming that each episode will last for at least an hour. It has been confirmed that season 1 of the upcoming Sonic series will have a total of 6 episodes, and as of writing, all of them have that timestamp on their registry listing on the database.
The Knuckles TV series was first announced in 2022 due to the success of the Sonic The Hedgehog films. Idris Elba reprising the role since his first appearance in the 2022 film, Sonic The Hedgehog 2. Also joining him is Adam Pally, who will also be reprising his Sonic 2 role as Wade Whipple, a police officer for the Green Hills Sheriff’s Department.
Variety reported that the series will take place between the events of Sonic 2 and the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie, which is scheduled to come out on December 20, 2024. The show will mainly focus on the iconic red echidna, with the trailer teasing a potential Sonic and Tails cameo. The show’s official description states that Knuckles will embark on a self-discovery journey, while also teaching Wade the ways of the Echidna Warrior.
Knuckles will air on Paramount Plus on April 27, 2024.
