inZOI’s will looks to give The Sims a run for its money

The Sims better watch out, as inZOI showcased its gameplay trailer at Gamescom 2024. This upcoming life sim is currently being developed by South Korean company, Krafton, and based on what’s seen so far, the graphics seem to be more lifelike compared to the cartoony nature of EA’s title. While a release date has yet to be announced, a small demo is now available on Steam.

The Gameplay trailer unveils the world these sims will be living in, how there are pets and cars, and detailed indoor locations like a library. People in the game, however, are speaking in a gibberish-like language which could be different from Simlish or could be just a placeholder for what the actual dialogue sounds would sound like. Unfortunately, the trailer did feature some lag in the background, and only time will tell if that issue will be fixed or if gamers need to invest in stronger PCs just to get the game running. Based on its system requirements found on its Steam page, that might be the case.

Aside from being a game dev company, Krafton is also known for its published titles under “Bluehole Studio.” One notable title published under the is PUBG: Battlegrounds by PUBG Studios. inZOI was first announced in 2023, listing itself as another competitor to The Sims franchise, along with other titles, such as Paralives. It was created using Unreal Engine 5 and promises players to create unique stories and experiences.

At the moment, the release date has yet to be announced, but it was previously scheduled to come out sometime in 2024. Fortunately, a demo for its character creation studio is available for download on Steam.
