Fortress Melbourne has announced that it’s hosting a free watch party for Act 2 of Arcane Season 2. This upcoming instalment of the League of Legends animated Netflix series will release nine episodes in three parts. Act 1 will come out on November 9, continuing where Season 1 left off.
According to the event page on Eventbrite, this watch party will be on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 5 p.m. Only the first two episodes of Act 2 will air at the event, and attendees will get free popcorn, partake in Arcane-themed trivia, and take home some giveaways. Unfortunately, this is an 18+ event, and ID must be shown at the entrance.
Arcane was first released on November 6, 2021, starring Hailee Steinfeld and Ella Purnell as Vi and Jinx. Other actors who starred in this show include Kevin Alejandro, Katie Leung, Harry Lloyd, Mick Wingert, Amirah Vann, and Ellen Thomas. Season 1 was highly praised by fans and critics alike, generating an average critic score of 100% and an average audience score of 96% on Rotten Tomatoes. In addition, it won numerous accolades, including “Outstanding Animated Program” at the Primetime Emmy Awards and “Best Adaptation” at The Game Awards.
League of Legends has become one of the most popular MOBAs since its release in 2009. The game’s yearly World Championship is one of the most prestigious and most-watched video game events, with a prize pool of over $2.2 million USD (~$3.3 million AUD) in the 2024 season, according to Dot Esports.
