FromSoftware has just revealed its next video game at the 2024 Game Awards in an absolutely beautiful trailer.
Titled Elden Ring Nightreign, this game is a standalone multiplayer co-op action-adventure that will be a spin-off of the 2022 Game of the Year award winner, Elden Ring.
Elden Ring Nightreign will thrust the Tarnished into jolly cooperation against the harsh, unforgiving, and brutal world of the Lands Between.
Players—called Nightfarers—can team up in squads of three with the sole goal of surviving three days-and-night cycles. Battling against new terrors, and exploring ever-changing maps. At the end of each night, not only will the map shrink with the coming Night’s Tide, but players will have to face powerful bosses. If they succeed, they will be ever closer to facing off against the chosen Nightlord.
The player can choose from eight unique characters, each with their own unique abilities and ultimate skills. At the end of every run, the player will gain relics that will allow them to further customize and upgrade their character. Elden Ring Nightreign will also offer a solo experience for those who want it.
The game looks to expand greatly on the mechanics and content of its predecessor, including the addition of magical gliders, to seemingly new spells, weapons, and even bosses from old FromSoftware games—including that of the notoriously difficult Nameless King from Dark Souls 3.
Elden Ring Nightreign will launch sometime in 2025 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
