If you’re craving more tactical RPG experiences with deep combat systems, look no further than newly revealed Solasta 2, which was revealed during The Game Awards 2024.
The sequel to 2021’s Solasta: Crown of the Magister, Solasta 2 looks to return to the familiar Dungeons and Dragons 5e ruleset that powered the original game and other popular RPGs. As you freely roam the lands with your custom party of four and take on challenges in your own way, the team at Tactical Adventures promises that while the choices will be yours, your fate will ultimately belong to the dice.
The original Solasta launched to generally positive reviews by critics. After years of updates and DLC, the original game found a passionate fanbase who praise how strictly it interpreted the fifth edition ruleset. Even before the critical hit of Baldur’s Gate 3, it had never been a better time to be a fan of these kinds of RPGs, and Solasta 2 looks to be an exciting continuation of this genre’s ongoing revival.
While we don’t yet have a release date for Solasta 2, the trailer promises both a playable demo and early access coming in early 2025 via Steam.
