Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked officially announced

Resolution Games has officially announced Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked, combining their ‘action roleplaying system’ and the official D&D license. While the initial news broke last year we now have a confirmed name and an intriguing teaser trailer.

Demeo and Demeo Battles quickly became a game night substitute for Dungeon Masters who wanted an out-of-campaign way to have fun with their groups,” said Tommy Palm, founder and CEO of Resolution Games. Continuing this trend, Demeo X Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked is ‘DM-less‘—although as a DM I’d be the first to say I’m interested in a game master mode from this team. For now though, Resolution Games says this offering is focusing on ‘social strategy‘ rather than ‘social roleplay‘.

Launching on PC, consoles, and VR devices, Battlemarked features cross-play for up to four players—so regardless of device you’ll be able to sit around the virtual table. At launch expect two story campaigns, with more already confirmed in future DLC.

Demeo is very popular with tabletop enthusiasts, and this partnership between Wizards of the Coast and Resolution Games was an obvious match. Given Hasbro’s going ‘all in on becoming a digital play company, I would expect this is receiving heavy support from Wizards’ parent company.

Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked is a bit of a mouthful though, so might I recommend the snappy acronym DxD&D:B?
