Electronic Arts and Battlefield Studios have officially unveiled Battlefield 6, marking the next thrilling chapter for the iconic first-person shooter series. Revealed today with a short, explosive cinematic trailer, the stage is set for the future of the series.
The trailer for Battlefield 6 opens with a fictitious U.S. president addressing his fellow citizens after an attack. “No country is safe from their reach,” he states shakily. He’s referring to Pax Armata, a dangerous Private Military Corporation. Supported by former NATO states, they have an agenda that threatens to plunge the world into global conflict. Not good.
From this point, it’s an all-out showcase of destruction, with American streets turned into battlefields. Buildings crumble under fire, bridges are blown to pieces, and helicopters crash through walls. The environmental carnage is constant and brutal. No structure is safe from destruction. It’s a big, visual spectacle, of course, but it also hints at some tactical strategy in the chaos. As the reveal’s press release hints, players will be able to “blow through walls and bring down buildings for a tactical advantage,” making the environment itself a weapon to leverage in your fight against Pax Armata.
Notably, this trailer sets the stage for the return of a single-player campaign after its absence in Battlefield 2042. As for multiplayer, the trailer ends with the mention of a separate multiplayer reveal event, which will be held on Friday, August 1st, at 4:30 AM AEST. The event will demonstrate the ambitions of Battlefield 6 and show off some of the game’s maps and modes, both new and returning. Those interested can find the event streamed live on YouTube or Twitch.
