John Wick Hex is getting delisted

Posted on July 15, 2025

Bithell Games’ turn-based strategy John Wick Hex is being removed from all digital distribution platforms this week, according to publisher Big Fan Games.

In a post on the game’s official Steam page, Big Fan Games stated that “John Wick Hex will be removed from sale on all platforms beginning July 17th, 2025”. After this date, existing owners of John Wick Hex will still be able to access the game via their digital libraries or physical copies. However, new purchases will not be possible.

The announcement comes on the heels of news earlier this week that the Stop Killing Games petition in the EU has reached over 1 million signatures. The petition and consumer movement advocates for the strengthening of game ownership and preservation, and is against the delisting and shutting down of multiplayer games that require ongoing servers, in particular.

While Big Fan Games’ statement does not reveal the reason for the delisting, it is possible that the publisher’s licence to use the John Wick IP has expired and not been renewed. It follows the delisting of other video games like Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance and the shuttering of multiplayer releases like Concord and Multiversus.

John Wick Hex was developed by Bithell Games, creators of this year’s TRON Catalyst and Thomas Was Alone, and released in 2019. It is a cell-shaded tactical role-playing game in which players control Wick in various missions, and also includes actors from the film series like Ian McShane and the late Lance Reddick.

John Wick Hex, at least for a few more days, is the only still available John Wick video game. The action series has previously been adapted via VR game John Wick Chronicles, and characters from the films have also appeared in Payday 2, Fortnite and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Spin-off From the World of John Wick: Ballerina was released in theatres earlier this year, and a sixth movie in the series is reportedly in the works.

For those interested in purchasing John Wick Hex while it is still available, it is currently 80% off on Humble Bundle. It is also available on Steam, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch for $29.50AUD.
