HoYoverse has announced that it will no longer support Genshin Impact on PlayStation 4. This popular open-world RPG gacha game was playable on the platform since its 2020 launch, but before the end of the year, the PS4 version of the game will be pulled from PlayStation stores.
HoYoverse announced on HoYoLab that it will remove Genshin Impact from the PlayStation 4, citing hardware limitations, performance issues, and the game’s growing file size. The process will roll out in three phases. First, HoYoverse will remove the PS4 version from the PlayStation Store, though current players can still redownload and play the game. By February 2026, the company will disable in-game purchases. And in August 2026, PS4 players will no longer be able to log in and it will stop receiving updates on that platform. HoYoverse released a tutorial to help players transfer accounts to other platforms and continue their Teyvat adventures without losing progress.
