The newest trailer for EA’s long-awaited skate. reboot finally gave fans a release date. The newest entry in the skate franchise will enter early access on 16 September 2025 and will be free for all players.
The newest trailer highlights the game’s skateboarding mechanics and multiplayer functionality. Several skaters explore the open streets of San Vasterdam together, which appears to be a rather expansive hub world. Skateboarding looks smoother than ever thanks to detailed animations and the variety of tricks available to players. San Vasterdam also provides players with plenty of ramps and rails to perform tricks on. The latter half of the trailer features some massive, larger-than-life structures, which suggests custom map building will be supported.
Following years of quiet development and last year’s teaser, it’s great to finally see an upcoming release date. EA has been detailing the development and features of the skate reboot on a blog called “the grind“. This month’s blogs discussed features such as player customisation and musicians that will feature in the soundtrack.
Following the tradition of modern multiplayer games, skate will feature seasonal content and a battle pass formula. Seasons are expected to last around three months and will feature new cosmetics for skaters and additional music. We’ve yet to get a sense of how much cosmetic content will be introduced per season, and how much will be locked behind paywalls.
Skate’s launch into early access next month on PlayStation, Xbox and PC via Steam and Epic.
