Daredevil and Angela join Marvel Rivals in new season, “The Heart of the Dragon”

After Season 3’s battle between light and darkness, Marvel Rivals is introducing another season based around a clash of heroes. The new trailer shows the conflict between new playable heroes Daredevil and Angela, both heavily redesigned to adopt a new mythological look.

Angela is a surprising inclusion given her obscurity compared to other anticipated heroes. Angela first appeared as a side character in the Spawn comics in the 1990s, but wasn’t heavily featured in storylines until the 2010s. An Asgardian warrior, Angela is the sister of Thor & Loki, who was raised in the angelic realm of Heaven. As a vanguard, Anglea controls several weapons that can change into any shape at will.

Daredevil is a far better known name, although Marvel Rivals’ interpretation has been heavily modified from his origins. Instead of patrolling New York suburbs, this Daredevil is the protector of An’Hay-Zhidi. He also takes the name Dizang instead of Matt Murdock.  Known as “Devil of the Eighth City,” Daredevil wields his familiar billy clubs and martial arts, as well as some new demonic capabilities.

“Heart of the Dragon” introduces a new stage, K’un-Lun: Heart of Heaven. In the comics, K’un-Lun is an ancient Chinese city home to powerful martial artists and powerful dragons. Rival hero Iron Fist serves as the protector of K’un-Lun, who also has strong connections to Daredevil, having donned the identity himself for a time.

As always, Marvel Rivals’newest season will also bring a host of new cosmetic features for previous heroes. Similar to last season’s symbiote skins, expect your favourite heroes to adopt new looks reminiscent of angels, devils or dragons. Additionally, new swimsuit skins will be released later in September.

Season 4 of Marvel Rivals launches September 12th 2025. Angela will be immediately playable, with Daredevil introduced later in the season.
