Square Enix has just put out a new Kingdom Hearts III trailer, just because the hype wasn’t quite insane already. The trailer shows off the Classic Kingdom; a collection of mini-games in the style of the Game & Watch handhelds. Revealed during a fan event, Kingdom Hearts III co-director Tai Yasue describes Classic Kingdom as “inspired by Disney cartoons and 1980s LCD games“. Check out the new trailer below!
In the trailer you can see tiny black and white Sora and Mickeys climbing construction sites to rescue Minnie, smashing enemies with hammers, delivering food, sneaking past a giant, and making sure eggs make it into baskets. Classic Kingdom is playable in both Kingdom Hearts III and the mobile title Kingdom Hearts Union χ[Cross], says Yasue. Nostalgia is radiating off the little LCD screen, and I for one cannot wait to experience it!
While Kingdom Hearts III is due out in 2018, no specific release date has been revealed. Over the past few months Square have teased out some of the new worlds, including Monsters Inc. and Toy Story
Who’s ready to join Sora in the conclusion of the Kingdom Hearts story? I know I am!
