Ubisoft has now provided a clearer release window for the long-delayed Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake. The developers have confirmed that it won’t be releasing this year, and that they aren’t ready to show any new footage as of yet.

“As you might have guessed, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake will not be in Ubisoft Forward,” the remake’s development team advised on Twitter. “We are making great progress for our game to release next year, but we are not ready to share any additional information just yet. We will share an update as soon as we are ready.”
This is the third delay announcement that Ubisoft has made for the remake of their legendary 2003 platformer. Originally, it was set to release January 2021, before being pushed back to March. After the second delay, no definite release date or window had been confirmed. Now we know at least to not expect Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake until next year.
Ubisoft has confirmed that we won’t be seeing The Prince of Persia, or The Division 2, at E3 this year. Fortunately, they will still have a lot to show off, including more of Far Cry 6 and Rainbow Six Extraction (formerly known as Rainbow Six Quarantine).
Prince of Persia fans have been waiting a long time for this remake. While it is disappointing to wait an entire year after the original release date, the Prince of Persia deserves a polished and bug-free title for his big return in over a decade. The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake will release on PS4, Xbox One and PC in 2022.
