It has been an excellent time to be a Star Wars fan, with a tonne of media for the franchise regularly coming out. After the great Jedi: Fallen Order game, many fans were eager to see what else they could expect from the franchise through video games. Luckily, we were teased to a brief showing of a brand new title called Star Wars Eclipse during The Game Awards.
The trailer provides a gorgeous look at the world we can expect to be venturing around in, set in the High Republic era, and developed by Quantic Dream, who are best known for their interactive story style of games like Heavy Rain and Detroit, this new game looks like it could be a departure from anything we have seen within the Star Wars universe before. The title is set to be an “action-adventure” title, which is surprising given the kind of games Quantic Dream typically develops, but no gameplay was shown. The title is said to still be in early development, and we are just going to have to wait a little longer to find out more.
In addition to this new announcement, we already know about the upcoming Knights of the Old Republic remake, which looks like it will be a pleasant experience for fans of the original, along with an open-world adventure game currently in the works from Ubisoft.
Keep your eyes peeled for more announcements from The Game Awards 2021.
