No More Heroes III, the most recent instalment in the primarily-Nintendo-based hack-and-slash No More Heroes series, is going multiplatform. Publisher XSEED Games has confirmed that ports for PC, PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S are planned for later this year.

“Our favorite otaku assassin returns!“, announced the publisher on Twitter. “Travis Touchdown has been forced out of retirement to defend not only Santa Destroy, but Earth itself! Bring on the beam katana and take on Travis’ toughest challenge yet in #NoMoreHeroes3, coming this fall to PS4, PS5, Xbox, and PC!“
Although the series debuted on the Wii and has mostly stayed as Nintendo exclusives, the No More Heroes games are no stranger to ports. Just last year, the first two No More Heroes titles received PC ports via Steam. Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes, the odd minigame-focused 2019 spin-off, also got belated PC and PS4 versions in October 2019. This will be the first time that No More Heroes III has received a non-Switch port, and the first time any of the games have been playable on an Xbox console.
No More Heroes III’s choppy performance and draw distance, particularly in its open world areas and more intense combat sequences, was a point of criticism. As such, it will be interesting to see what benefits the PC and more powerful home consoles will bring. We will find out later this year when No More Heroes III is released on PS4, PS5, PC and Xbox Series X/S.
