Pokémon fans are once again freaking out after a second trailer for the next mainline games in the series was dropped which featured a global release date and more game details. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet originally came as a surprise announcement to fans in the last Pokémon Presents presentation and ever since Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly have captured fans’ hearts anew. As a fan of the series, I am absolutely buzzing about these. Set for release on November 18th, 2022 – the games are already dropping fresh details in preparation. It is looking like Gamefreak have learned a lot about what people vibed with in Sword and Shield and Legends: Arceus, so it’s going to be quite exciting to learn more about this game. Already there’s a lot to unpack in this short trailer but the main things that are catching my eye are;
-The Legendaries:
Talk about beasts! Koraidon and Miraidon are the respective game legenadaries. Already I’m thinking I’m drawn to Miradon in Violet and I’m quite intrigued by the designs. One theory on Twitter I read suggests we could have a central nature vs technology theme considering Miraidon has a cyber aesthetic happening.
– Multiplayer:
Trading and battling are returning and you’ll also be able to explore various parts of the region with other players.
– The new Pokémon:
Fans are already obsessed with the 3 new Pokemon revealed in the trailer. I’m a sucker for a new Pokémon generation because I can never have enough Pokémon, though I do worry about getting my living dex done.
– The Professors:
Meet Professor Sada and Professor Turo who’ll be game-specific professors. Professor Turo has my heart, sorry Professor Sada.
