Drop down your sword as Wanderstop has you running a cozy tea shop

You can finally stop running as Wanderstop allows you to relax and help run a cozy tea shop. This game is being made by Ivy Studios, a video game company run by the same people who created The Stanley Parable and The Beginner’s Guide, and it will be released on PS5 and PC later this year.

The game’s reveal trailer was released during this year’s Summer Games Fest. You play as Alta, a former fighter who now works at a tea shop owned by Boro. In this game, you will tend the garden, interact with customers, and make tea using the shop’s “really unique tea machine”. On the surface, it seems like an interesting plot, where you lay down your sword and adjust to this new cozy life. However, it seems like our main character can’t seem to escape her past.

Based on the footage seen in the trailer, we got to see some of the gameplay. Gardening would allow you to carry plants around and some would require a specific combination of plants surrounding it. The tea machine would have you check water and heat levels and add ingredients. And you also get to interact with the world around you. However, Alta’s narration has you thinking that there is more to this than meets the eye. After all, she can’t seem to settle in this new cozy and safe life that she’s now in. Perhaps the players can solve that mystery once the game comes out?

Wanderstop will come out on PS5 and PC later in 2024. Stay tuned for more updates.
