Arriving in December of this year, Sephiroth is set to be the next Smash fighter arriving for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The announcement was made during The Game Awards 2020 as the very first announcement of the show. You can find the official reveal trailer below.
Sephiroth, or “The One-Winged Angel”, is known as the antagonist of Final Fantasy VII. He’ll be joining Cloud as part of the Smash roster to allow their rivalry to continue across to a new franchise. It’s fitting too because earlier this year we saw the remake of Final Fantasy VII. There was never a more relevant time to get this big baddy debuting in Smash.
Sephiroth is the third new fighter in the game’s second Fighter’s Pass, following Min Min from Arms and Steve from Minecraft.
