Dying Light 2 has been pushed back into February 2022

An update on the development of Dying Light 2 has seen the game delayed until February 4, 2022. The update comes to us from the Dying Light Twitter page amongst other official places, where developer Techland sites polish and optimization as the major reasons for a delay.

Dying Light 2 statement regarding most recent delay

It’s been a bit of a bumpy development journey for Dying Light 2. The game was revealed back in mid-2018 with a 2020 release window announced the following year. After some periods of uneasy quiet, the game resurfaced with the news that it’d be delayed indefinitely. Back in May of this year was when the game resurfaced once more with a plan to release in December. This most recent delay into February is hopefully the last of many.

Dying Light 2 is a parkour infused survival zombie game that had a lot of people excited by the world it was creating and the choices you could make within it. Techland struck gold with the original Dying Light, but it does seem as though the ambitious follow-up has caused them a little bit of grief behind the scenes. Regardless, we are still very excited to see what this game has in store for its players.

Also announced within the delay statement is the fact that press and content creators will be able to go hands-on with the game throughout October. So hopefully a nice amount of footage and impressions will be surfacing soon. Dying Light 2 will be releasing across PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S on February 4, 2022.
